Welcome to my home page. It's nothing special; just a collection of geek stuff, articles, computer programming projects and various tidbits that make up my life ;-). Feel free to use and refer the resources available here as you want.
I was born in São Gabriel, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
, and currently I live in Porto Alegre. As you can check by the site contents, computers are what I like to do, even more when they run free software. Apart from computers, I love music (rock'n roll ;), movies, geek toys, electronics, martial arts (I have trained Karate and Taekwondo, and now I'm doing Muay Thai).
I'm graduated in Computer Science at Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), getting the Bachelor degree in 2005. I was part of the LSC Lab (Laboratório de Sistemas de Computação) during 3 years. I also has a short internship at Laboratory for Software and Hardware Integration (LISHA), at Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).
Now, I work in the Digitel S.A. Industria Eletronica -- the leading company in the data transmission segment within the Brazilian telecommunications market -- designing and developing software for embedded systems. I am also member of the Group of Parallel and Distributed Processing (GPPD) and I am pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). If you want to know about I did in these places, check out the research section of this home page.
I am a computer geek.
I spent some time on different software projects. At LSC Lab, I wrote two libraries for resource monitoring (liblproc and libmdsources). I created and maintained some tools and features related to Ganglia Monitoring System for a few years, but I stopped doing that since I don't use it any longer. I also programmed a P2P system for parallel computing, a idleness detector for distributed systems (with Elton Mathias), a system for automatic software package installation on clusters (with Diego Kreutz, Elton Mathias and Tiago Scheid), and many other programs.
During my internship at LISHA Lab, I worked on a research project whose aim was to implement an software/hardware architecture supporting Brazilian Digital TV System (SBTVD). I programmed with Diego Kreutz a network driver to EPOS Operating System and helped him to port this OS to GEODE platform.
At Digitel, I work designing and developing software for embedded systems (for example, adapting linux kernel for new PowerPC-based equipments, writing device drivers and programs for embedded systems, etc.).
Nowadays, I participate into the free software community by working on small projects by my own, and by submitting bug reports and patches to bigger projects. If you want to know more about these and anothers software projects, check out the software section of this home page.
